Tradução e legendagem audiovisual em um curta-metragem: experiências de um estudante do ensino médio

Abstract

The research proposal entitled "Between Languages: Translation and Subtitling of a Short Film" aims to translate and subtitle, from Portuguese to English, a short film. We start from the understanding that this process involves not only understanding, interpreting and recreating the text in another language, but also adapting it culturally to the target language interactor. In this sense, the project will select a short film in Portuguese for analysis, translation and subtitling in English. After analyzing the narrative, characters, context and cultural elements, the translation will be prepared and subtitling will be carried out using previously selected software. During the project, meetings, discussions and studies will be held on Audiovisual Translation (TAV), as well as the parameters and criteria necessary for the subtitling process.
