Análise Técnica e de Custos para implementação de aterro sanitário no município de Jataí (GO)

Abstract

This study sought to identify the different types of solid waste (MSW) that are discarded in the municipality of Jataí, seeking to know the environmental legislation, types of waste generated and what solutions some Brazilian states use for the disposal of their solid waste without compromising the biomes. In addition, an environmental study was carried out that will allow for the proper final disposal of MSW. Therefore, it aims to analyze the economic and financial viability to implement a landfill in Jataí-GO. For such information, scientifically and academically based material was searched in online databases, from 1990 to 2021. It was observed that from studies and on-site surveys by the Brazilian Association of Waste Treatment Companies (ABETRE) and Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), and due to the urgency of disposing of MSW, it was necessary to carry out outsourced garbage collection, incur transshipment expenses and pay for the transport of tons of garbage. Considering all that has been exposed, it is highlighted the unfeasibility of implementing a new sanitary landfill, under the responsibility of the City Hall, since, only the average cost of approximately R$ 9 million/year, just with the maintenance of this landfill, collection services would be left out, in addition to not being consistent with the municipality's annual revenue. In summary, after these studies, it is more feasible to donate the 151-hectare area to a private company, which is already interested, making up a public-private partnership (PPP) or a bidding concession, so that it is responsible for licensing the area, implementing, operation and closure.
