Abstract: The prolonged use of non-renewable energy sources has intensified global warming, increasing concern about minimizing the effects of fossil fuel combustion. In this context, the search for new renewable energy sources drives the development of electrical power generation systems capable of operating off-grid, especially wind systems. This work presents the analysis and performance of a self-excited synchronous reluctance generator coupled to a wind turbine, with emphasis on mathematical modeling and computational simulation in MATLAB/Simulink. The theoretical foundation is developed, along with the modeling of the wind turbine, the generator in the dq reference frame, the capacitor bank responsible for self-excitation, and the electrical load. The system is evaluated under different wind speed and load conditions, and the results demonstrate the self-excitation capability and system adaptability. Therefore, the feasibility of the self-excited synchronous reluctance generator for wind power generation in isolated systems is confirmed, highlighting its robustness, simple construction, and stable dynamic behavior.

Abstract: This final course project analyzes the performance and practical application of a wind energy plant in a controlled environment, using an experimental bench that simulates real conditions of energy generation from wind. Wind energy is highlighted as a promising renewable source for the global energy transition, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and meeting the growing demand for electricity in a sustainable way. The controlled environment approach allows precise adjustment of variables such as wind speed, blade pitch angle, applied load, and integration with storage systems like batteries, facilitating the collection of reliable data for project optimization. The study addresses the history of wind energy, from ancient mills to modern turbines, and emphasizes its relevance in the Brazilian context, especially in the Northeast, where wind potential is high, despite challenges such as local adaptation and technical training. Experimental benches, such as those developed by De Lorenzo do Brasil, are explored for small-scale testing, reducing risks and costs before field implementations. In addition, the integration with batteries is discussed as a way to mitigate the intermittency of wind generation, promoting hybrid systems for applications in isolated communities or urban microgeneration. The results aim to contribute to the scientific literature, supporting innovations in renewable energy and strengthening the national technological infrastructure.

Abstract: This paper presents an experimental analysis of the performance of a wind microgeneration system on a teaching bench, operating under different load and energy conversion conditions. Tests were carried out in direct current (DC) with resistive loads and in alternating current (AC), using DC-AC conversion to power a three-phase motor with star and delta starts. The system used consists of a wind turbine, battery bank, converters, and control modules, allowing direct measurements through the Human-Machine Interface (HMI). The variables monitored include voltage, current, power, and rotation, enabling performance comparisons between different configurations. The results indicated that, in direct current (DC) mode with resistive loads, load and speed variation significantly impacts the power delivered and operational stability. In DC-AC conversion, the delta configuration showed higher power in direct current (DC) consumption, while the star start offered more stable operation and lower electrical demand. The tests performed contribute to the understanding of the behavior of microgeneration wind systems, helping to optimize designs for off-grid applications.

Abstract: This work aims to develop and analyze a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) with an outer rotor, designed for direct application in traction systems of electric scooters. Given the growing demand for sustainable solutions in urban mobility, the need for more efficient, compact, and high power density electric motors becomes evident. The adoption of an outer rotor topology directly coupled to the wheel is justified by the possibility of eliminating mechanical transmission components, such as gear reducers and differentials, thus reducing weight, mechanical losses, and overall system cost. The research initially presents the mathematical modeling involved in the Finite Element Method (FEM), aiming to solve electromagnetic problems relevant to the machine design stage, such as the calculation of phase magnetic flux, back electromotive force (EMF), and electromagnetic torque. Subsequently, the study details the constructive and electromagnetic design process, with emphasis on the influence of each parameter on the motor’s overall performance. Finally, computational simulations based on FEM are carried out, providing performance curves essential to assess the feasibility of the proposed application. The obtained results highlight the potential of the studied topology for use in light electric vehicles, especially urban scooters, contributing to the advancement of clean and eficiente technologies in the mobility sector.
