Abstract: The increasing use of petroleum-based plastic packaging has caused serious environmental impacts, driving the search for sustainable and biodegradable alternatives. Cellulose acetate stands out among biodegradable materials for its mechanical properties, transparency, and stability, making it a suitable base for developing active films containing natural compounds. Therefore, this study developed cellulose acetate biofilms incorporated with rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) and grape peel (Vitis vinifera) extracts, evaluating their physical, mechanical. The films were produced by the casting method using cellulose acetate, glycerol, acetone, and natural extracts. Thickness and tensile tests were carried out under a completely randomized design. The results showed that the incorporation of the extracts significantly affected the mechanical properties of the films. The rosemary extract provided greater elongation (13.94%) compared to the control (4.09%), indicating increased flexibility, possibly due to the plasticizing effect of phenolic and terpenoid compounds. The grape peel extract reduced tensile strength but maintained a homogeneous appearance and absence of visible defects, suggesting good structural uniformity. Regarding thickness, no significant differences were observed among treatments. Therefore, incorporating natural extracts of rosemary and grape peel into cellulose acetate films proved to be a promising alternative for obtaining biodegradable and active packaging materials.

Abstract: The study held at IFG campus Inhumas-GO in the year 2025 evaluated the reuse of hop residues for bioenergy generation through pelletization with animal tallow. Hop residues obtained from microbreweries were collected, dried, and characterized in terms of moisture content, ash content, and Higher Heating Value (HHV). Five pellet formulations were prepared with different proportions of animal tallow (15%, 25%, 35%, 45%, and 55%). The results showed that the addition of tallow increased the HHV of the pellets, with Sample E (55% tallow) presenting the highest HHV (31.035 MJ/kg). However, Sample D (45% tallow) exhibited the best balance between energy yield, stability, and reduced ash formation. Pelletization with animal tallow proved to be an effective strategy for producing solid biofuels, reducing waste disposal while promoting renewable energy
generation. This work represents a preliminary stage and provides the foundation for future studies aimed at consolidating the findings and optimizing bioenergy production from agro-industrial residues, with a particular focus on sustainability in the brewing sector.

Abstract: Green olives in brine have gained worldwide prominence due to their
sensory, chemical, and nutritional properties, especially their high content
of monounsaturated fatty acids, tocopherols, and phenolic compounds. The
quality of the food is determined by intrinsic and extrinsic characteristics
that influence consumer acceptance, which largely depends on the
information provided on the labels to understand the product’s composition and qualities. This study evaluated the physicochemical properties and labeling of five brands marketed in Goiás,
Brazil. Results showed all samples had a pH below 4.5, indicating
sufficient acidity for microbiological safety. Sodium chloride content
ranged from 2.22% to 3.97%, with one brand presenting a value below the
legally required minimum. Discrepancies were found between the sodium
values declared on labels and those analyzed, highlighting the need for
standardization. Two brands exhibited excessive headspace, which may
compromise sealing and product stability. Total acidity varied, but only
two brands met the legal minimum requirement. Gross, net, and drained
weights met the expected minimums despite variations. Label analysis
revealed 22% non-compliance, including missing mandatory information
and misleading statements, resulting in an overall 78% compliance rate. It
is concluded that although the physicochemical parameters are mostly
satisfactory, labeling flaws and some specific issues indicate the need for
stricter oversight and industrial improvements to ensure quality, safety,
and transparency for consumers.

Abstract: Agriculture has expanded significantly in the development and application of new
technologies through which water and nutrients can be recovered during the
cultivation process to reduce the impact on the environment. Aquaponics is emerging
as a cultivation method that is constantly being readapted for its purpose in food
production. Thus, the objective of this work is to analyze current publications on the
subject of aquaponics to synthesize the knowledge that leads to the implementation
of a domestic system. The methodological approach of the bibliographic review is
characterized as exploratory, descriptive and documentary. The research covered the
period between April/2021 and September/2024 and the data collection consisted of
academic scientific studies from all years available on the Google Scholar website in
the Portuguese language. The descriptors were: aquaponics, tilapia, vegetables and,
which were present in the title or abstract of the works and then read in full to create
the technical topics and state of the art. It is concluded that the aquaponics system is
economically viable and consists of different models for domestic application.
