Abstract: This work aims to present my childhood in the Êtênhõ’repré village, where I attended elementary school and learned from my grandparents the value of work, family, and collective care. I grew up helping in the fields, fishing, gathering fruits from nature, and living in harmony with my community. I went through the A’uwê Uptabi boys'; coming-of-age rituals, such as the root fight, the period in the adolescent house, the ear piercing, and the transition to Herói’wa and then Ritéi’wa, which will be recounted in this study, based on my experience. These processes marked my development and taught me responsibility, respect, and coexistence with the Abare’u group. With the support of colleagues, I entered the Federal Institute of Goiás, in the Visual Arts course. During my studies at IFG, I learned to consider injustices, to understand racism, to value the knowledge of my people, and to occupy academic spaces with autonomy. Therefore, my research has the responsibility to value my community, strengthen our knowledge, and continue fighting for the visibility and rights of indigenous peoples.

Abstract: This work presents an autobiographical and artistic investigation of identity, memory, and ancestry within the Goiana diaspora, grounded in Bakongo cosmology, particularly the Dikenga cosmogram as articulated by Bunseki Fu-Kiau. The research interweaves lived experiences, artistic practices, and Afro-diasporic knowledge, understanding the body, memory, and creation as territories of knowledge. It addresses racism and memoricide as continuous processes that fragment and erase Black memory and subjectivity. In response, the study proposes art, Afro-Brazilian cultural practices, and African cosmologies as pathways for reconnection, healing, and continuity. The artistic production explores materials, symbols, colors, and processes connected to both ancestral foundations and the Goiana territory, resulting in the construction of a distinct visual identity. The research affirms education and artistic creation as ethical and political practices of belonging and re-existence.
