Abstract: Design coordination is a critical stage in civil engineering, responsible for mitigating errors that impact costs and schedules. This work proposes structured guidelines for project coordination using BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology, aligned with the principles of ISO 19650. The methodology consisted of qualitative and exploratory research based on a literature review and a comparative analysis of case studies from contemporary literature, without validation through an independent case study.
The main result is a practical guide, composed of a flowchart and a verification checklist, covering everything from the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) to Clash Detection. The validation of the model, conducted through comparison with scientific literature data, indicated that the proposed guidelines are based on processes with a potential for conflict detection up to 427% higher than the 2D method, focusing on the architecture-structure interface, where research points to the occurrence of 75% of critical inconsistencies. It is concluded that the model promotes Concurrent Engineering and the formalization of information flow, consolidating BIM as a strategic tool for predictability and quality in the construction sector.

Abstract: This study presents a comparative analysis between a precast lattice slab with EPS infill and a Steel deck composite slab, applied to a 244 m² commercial mezzanine. The objective was to evaluate the structural, executive, and economic performance of both solutions. The methodology included structural design according to ABNT NBR 6118:2023 and NBR 8800:2024, budgeting based on the SINAPI database (Goiás), and the application of a multicriteria decision matrix based on Expert Judgment. Results showed that both systems met the structural requirements for the 2.48 m main span and 3.0 kN/m² commercial live load. However, the lattice slab presented a direct cost of R$ 125.11/m², proving to be more economically viable than the Steel deck, which cost R$ 205.80/m² (a 64.5% increase). In the decision matrix, the lattice slab achieved the highest global score (3.80 versus 3.50 for the Steel deck), driven by the weight of the financial factor. It is concluded that for this scenario of short spans and no critical schedule constraints, the lattice slab is the most cost-effective solution.

Abstract: The increasing demand for more efficient and reliable sanitation projects has driven the adoption of new design and representation methodologies. In this context, wastewater pumping stations, characterized by a high concentration of hydraulic and electromechanical components within confined spaces, represent a significant technical challenge when developed using traditional two-dimensional methods. This study analyzes, through a case study, the application of three-dimensional modeling in the development of the design of a small-scale wastewater pumping station located in the municipality of Santo André, São Paulo State, Brazil, comparing it with the conventional 2D CAD (Computer Aided Design) approach. The methodological procedure involved the development of two design models for the same facility: one developed using three-dimensional modeling up to Level of Development (LOD) 300 and the other based on two-dimensional representation. The comparative analysis focused on spatial understanding of the hydraulic layout, interference detection, component coordination, and the time required for project development. The results showed that three-dimensional modeling provides greater clarity in the interpretation of the overall system, reduces ambiguities inherent to the reading of plans and sections, and enables early identification of conflicts among system components. Regarding development time, it was observed that, for the analyzed case study, both methodologies presented similar durations in project development, although three-dimensional modeling demonstrated greater efficiency during the analysis, review, and adjustment stages. It is concluded that three-dimensional modeling constitutes a strategic tool for enhancing the design process of small-scale wastewater pumping stations, contributing to increased technical reliability and rationalization of design stages, even when overall time savings are not significant.

Abstract: Risk management has become a structural element of contemporary
public administration, especially within the scope of procurement under
the Bidding and Administrative Contracts Law No. 14,133 (BRASIL,
2021). This approach reinforces the need for planning, governance, and
control to ensure efficiency, integrity, and transparency. In the context of works executed by the Brazilian Army, these guidelines are even
more relevant given the operational, logistical, and environmental
specificities of the Construction Engineering System. In this scenario,
risk management applied to the acquisition of goods and services
emerges as an indispensable practice to minimize uncertainties, prevent
failures, and ensure the responsible use of public resources. This study
analyzes the systematic process of risk management applied to the
procurement of goods and services at the 5th Construction Engineering
Battalion (5o BEC). For this unit, which plays a strategic role in
infrastructure projects in the Northern region, the adoption of structured
methodologies—aligned with current legislation, Federal Court of
Accounts (TCU) guidelines, and internal Army regulations—enables
greater predictability, reliability, and legal certainty throughout all
stages of the bidding process. The research is applied in nature and
based on ISO 31000 (ABNT, 2018) and the Brazilian Army Manual
EB20-MT-02.001 (MD, 2019). It utilizes data analysis from the
National Public Procurement Portal (2021-2025) to identify
vulnerabilities in bidding processes. As a practical contribution, the
study proposes a mapping of the procurement planning process and a
customized risk and control matrix, detailing critical events, causes, and
mitigation measures. The results indicate that the standardization of
these tools can strengthen documentary compliance and ensure greater
technical and legal predictability for military cooperation works in the
Amazon region.
